Terms & Conditions for Marchpane Studio
Welcome to the Marchpane Studio terms & conditions. I would encourage you to read them prior to making a booking/purchase. (Marchpane Studio has a separate Privacy Policy that covers use of personal data and GDPR). Whenever you use the Marchpane Studio website to book/pay for a course, workshop or class or attend them in person and when you buy a product from the shop you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions as stated in this document.
The Marchpane Studio website is designed to inform you of what is going on at the Studio and allow you to make and pay for bookings and to browse and make purchases from the shop too. The website is subject to changes as new workshops/courses/classes and products are added and removed. Items in the shop are subject to availability.
The contents of the workshops, courses and products on offer on the website are written, resourced and created by me (unless otherwise stated). I use Wix to host my website and their e-commerce and bookings management tools. I own the copyright to any original artworks, designs and illustrations and I own the intellectual copyright of workshop/course materials and resources. Please do not copy these or use any of my images/resources without gaining permission in writing from me. If permission is granted then please attribute the relevant images/resources to me.
Bookings and Payments
Making a booking(s) for courses and workshops can be done here on the website or directly with me.
Marchpane Studio is hosted by Wix and I use their e-commerce platform. The website has an SSL certificate (There is more about this in the privacy policy section) it means it is a secure transaction.
Bookings are made on a first come first served basis. I will place a "sold out" sign on the relevant workshop or course and give you the option to be put on a waiting list. I will endeavour to add more dates if there are 3 or more people who would like to have attended a particular workshop/course but couldn't because it was full.
Workshop Payment - this is taken online for the whole cost of the of the workshop using a credit/debit card or PayPal. This secures your place and a confirmation email is sent. This is followed by a pre-workshop information email.
Course Payment - A deposit is taken online which secures your place on the course. A confirmation email is sent. This is followed by a pre-course information email. The remaining £100 is to be paid in full when you attend the first session either in cash or by card (I have a SumUp card reader at the studio).
NB If you wanted to pre-pay for the whole course before the start date just get in touch with me to arrange. Wix does not allow me to give both options of paying just the deposit or the full amount online.
Cheques - I do take cheques still! But these would need to be sent to me at least two weeks before the start date. Please contact me directly if you prefer to use a cheque.
Booking for any of the GCSE/A Level Foundation classes/ Private or small group tuition/ A special Occasion
Bookings and payments would need to be made directly with me via an email or a phone call so that we can sort good dates and times.
Children's Craft Parties and Art Classes are something I hope to offer from Summer 2021(Parties) and Autumn 2021 (Classes). At the moment these can't be booked but I am currently assessing the level of interest in this service. I am happy to discuss things with you at any time if you are interested.
My email is hello@marchpanestudio.co.uk
I always aim to get back to you asap and certainly within two working days.

Cancellation of a workshop/course session/private tuition class by Marchpane Studio
If for any reason I was unable to run a workshop/course/class I will always give you the option of a full refund/reschedule or transfer.
Obviously it would have to be an amazingly good reason that would force me to cancel but I want you to know I would make sure you had your creative experience (and buy in some yummy cake by way of apology!).
Marchpane Studio Vouchers
Vouchers can be purchased via the website or directly from me.
If you have been given a voucher and want to use it to book a workshop/course/class you will need to contact me directly in order to do so as the checkout does not yet support booking a place with a voucher. (I am working on this!) you can use this link hello@marchpanestudio.co.uk
Vouchers can be purchased to cover the full cost of a 6 week art course, a full day workshop, a half day workshop, £25 or in denominations of £10 up to £100.
Currently, vouchers can only be purchased to use for a workshop/course/class/special occasion rather than to buy products in the shop. This may change in the future.
Under no circumstances can vouchers be exchanged for cash.
Vouchers can only be transferred to another person who is not named on the voucher with prior agreement from Marchpane Studio.
When purchasing a voucher you are requested to specify a date within 3 months of the purchase date. This could be to mark a birthday or special day. The voucher will be valid for 1 year (12 months) from that specified date. After that date the voucher expires and can no longer be used.
Cancellation and return of an online order

Please email me at hello@marchpanestudio.co.uk if you wish to cancel your order within this time period. You then have 14 days from the date you notify me that you wish to cancel your order to return the order. Please note, all return postage is to be paid for by the customer (not Marchpane Studio) Return postage charges will not be refunded.
Refunds will be credited to the original method of payment on receipt of the returned order arriving at Marchpane Studio.
Marchpane Studio will refund or exchange items returned that are unused, in their original packaging and in a saleable condition.

Marchpane Studio Newsletter & Marketing emails
The Marchpane Studio Newsletter is only sent to you if you have subscribed and consented to receiving emails and other marketing/news emails relevant to Marchpane Studio. You always have the option to unsubscribe from these at any point. More is written in my Privacy policy about this.
At Marchpane Studio itself
I will send a pre-workshop or pre-course information with further details in order for you to be ready for the day once you have made your booking. I will also send you my address and directions. On the website I only state NG9, near to Bramcote Park this is because the Studio is part of my home and I don't want to have my address online.
Please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy! Marchpane Studio can not be held responsible for any clothing damaged by any art materials you encounter here. I provide aprons or please bring your own. I have saved many a school blazer but sometimes there is nothing to be done! Being creative can be a messy business so please bear that in mind.
Please read my Covid-19 document prior to attending the studio.
Tea, coffee, water, soft drinks and biscuits are provided. You are welcome to bring snacks/ drinks too. If you are doing a full day workshop you will be advised to bring a packed lunch.
Otherwise just enjoy yourself and have fun being creative! Homework is optional, detentions and consequence ladders don't exist!
