Marchpane Studio is based in Bramcote, Nottingham. On a day-to-day basis it comprises of myself and my studio dog Bingley with the regular addition of friends, family and those seeking creative experiences.
Art, printing, illustration, design, learning, experimenting and creating is at the heart of everything I do and I would love to share it. My own work and information about how I work can be viewed here in my portfolio.
Marchpane Studio was initially launched in October 2020 once the extension had been converted into a self-contained studio space. I have long dreamt of having my own Art studio. The pandemic pretty much wiped out all of my original plans and I went and got two jobs instead! One of which I have kept. I look forward to seeing how Marchpane Studio will develop in 2022 and beyond!
Art Workshops can be booked at Marchpane Studio for small groups minimum 2- maximum 4 people. They are bookable on demand. Due to other work commitments I only offer a maximum of three workshops per month so do get in touch and book ahead if you want a specific date!
There are workshop options to choose from OR you can have a tailor-made workshop.
Private Art Tuition can be booked for individuals. Special Occasions such as hen-do's, mothering sunday/father's day creative experiences and birthdays can also be arranged.
Contact me directly to discuss your requirements here.
Vouchers make a great gift and can also be purchased from me directly just get in touch via the contact button.
My teaching background
I initially studied Fine Art but switched to Graphic Design & Illustration at Northumbria University where I continued to be a mix of the two. I graduated in 2000. Part-way through a year long trip around the world (somewhere on Mission Beach in Australia) I decided I would complete a PGCE on my return to reality. I did this at Hertfordshire University and taught Art, Craft & Design at a secondary school in St Albans. I missed my family and friends in Nottingham so I came home and went on to become Head of Art in a school I loved. I now work part-time teaching A Level Art & Photography which is a perfect job!
I love Art. I am a great believer in the importance of the creative subjects and I look forward to supporting people of all ages further their skills and enjoyment of all things creative!
I hope to see you in the studio soon!!
